The next 3 are the ones I use the most and have had the best luck with:

GIS Manifold - GREAT
Program and very adfortable at $245. They give you a 30 day trial
period during which you have a fully running program and if you don't like
it you can get your money back. It comes with some very powerful tools
to work with the data and you can make professional maps.
- OziExplorer - GREAT
PROGRAM I love this program, Must have. Ok Ok I like it :) Allows you
to take GPS data and plots it on a topo map and aerial photos. To see an

Global Mapper - Used to view Aerial
photos, DRGs,
DLGs, and DEMs. The free ver can do a lot and is very good for looking

3DEM - 3D viewer
for DEMs
Erdas Viewfinder will
create a real geotiff file, with full geotiff georeferencing info.
GratIS - Free Software
program that allows you to view and work on some of these files. I've
played with a little and it looks good but will take some learning.
PowerArchiver - This is another program
that supports several file types that WinZip does not. Supports ZIP, CAB,
LHA (LZH), TAR, TAR.GZ, TAR.BZ2, BH, RAR, ARJ, ARC, ACE, ZOO, GZ, BZIP2, XXE,
and UUE file formats. Very nice program and cheaper than WinZip
TNRIS GIS Tools - A web page
with several links to web pages with GIS tools.
Allows you to View, Print, and Markup
AutoCAD files.
Not as good as it used to be. Also see the
Free DWG Viewer above.
WinZip - This is a very common program used
to compress files and most of the downloads will be in this format.
